The Key to Happiness

We often look for a “fix”, a key, a secret for happiness, but in reality … happiness is in our own hands.

?

Do you know your happy place?? The place you feel connected and completely alive. I feel this way when I am by the water, especially during sunrise and sunset. At times I can get stuck, thinking I will only be happy by the water, until I realize this happy place exists within me whenever I call it.

Happiness is a choice I can make at any time, to embrace who I actually am, and to allow my values to be my compass.

Here’s the secret … It exists within you too. If you want to be seen, heard, & understood for who you actually are, start within yourself. Don’t get caught up in waiting for the perfect moment, trip, job, or experience. Perfection is a myth. When we lean into our unique gifts and values, we become more alive, and our light is given the opportunity to shine as we Dare to Dream.?

Recently I did my ‘2023 Year in Review’ by asking myself the following:

• What did I accomplish?
• What did I not accomplish?
• What did the numbers reflect?

?

Then I did a more holistic view by adding in what made me happy:

• What trips did I take?
• What things did I do with my family and friends?
• How did I evolve myself personally and professionally?

?

As I looked back on my year, I had not accomplished everything I had set out to do. Rather, I was astonished by how much I had done beyond what I had imagined. I pivoted and reprioritized as needed.

?

• Business Consulting:? Together we are bringing the vision to the implementation phase. The programs and partnerships we developed are going to change the face of the relationship between the patient and healthcare provider through collaboration and compassionate care.
• Values Consulting:? Brought on new clients who integrated their mission, vision and values into a compass or crest to help guide their decisions going forward. Opportunities have been created to evolve their culture roadmap in a way that will impact the engagement of their team(s), and ultimately their financial bottom line (revenue).
• Contributing Author to Two Best Selling Books:?
• Mission Hope: Thriving Through Seasons of the Soul - Chapter 3:? Reclaiming Value(s)
• Culture Impact:?Strategies to Create World-Changing Workplaces - Chapter 9:? Team Impact:? Bridging Culture
• Trips to 10 States in the USA: California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin
• Trips to 5 Countries:? Canada, France, Italy, Slovenia, and Spain

At the end of the process, I was left with a truer assessment of the opportunities and choices I can make heading into the New Year. By living my own vision and values, I am helping others to connect more deeply with their own.

In my last newsletter, Time Waits For No One, I encouraged you to live fully, embrace your purpose and bring your gifts to fruition. It is not helpful to wallow in disappointments. It is, however, a fantastic time to reassess and reprioritize.?
