It is important to note that the acoustic rating for a particular model of glass partition will differ in actual (at site) compared to its laboratory values. This difference in performance will be due to “Flanking transmission” which affects the overall acoustic effectiveness of a glass partition system.
Flanking Transmission: This happens when sound travels through paths other than the glass partition, such as through ceilings, walls, air conditioning systems or floors.
How to maximize the effectiveness/performance?
·???????? Provide additional insulated structure above partitions in ceiling
·???????? Make the Air conditioning systems properly insulated
·???????? Always apply acoustic/foam tapes at the bottom of aluminium profiles
BONUS TIP: Add additional soundproofing materials, such as acoustic wall tiles, upholstered furniture to improve overall sound insulation.
