Unleashing Excellence: Elevating Capabilities, Confidence, & Careers through Hogan Assessments & Expert Coaching
After a long stint while working in the recruitment space, it was time that I took a conscious decision to re-skill myself. During this journey, Professional Coaching came across my way as one of the areas where I potentially saw myself walking the path. Getting myself equipped to be able to coach with the right skill set, it became important that I also undergo training and learnt from the best school in the business. I successfully completed the same soon after my goal was set.
While I finished my training, I started practicing it regularly and some surprising things started happening to me. Mostly unintentionally and sometimes intentionally, I began to have coaching conversation with every second person I was meeting in order reassure myself what I learnt, I was also adapting. For first few conversations I was not sure whether my conversations were actually helping others and if it was landing with the right intention. I realised gradually how joyful I became when I saw results from first few people I spoke. This gave me the thought that I must take note of key take away and how these thoughts can probably encourage someone who is also wanting to become a Coach.
So here are few Core key principles one can keep in mind if he/she decides to become THE COACH.
- Every conversation is not a coaching conversation. But surely it is your intention and conviction with a helping attitude that can turn around simple conversations to coaching conversations.
- Building the trust and rapport, that coach will listen to me and will help me draw a meaningful conclusion.
- It is important that we have the intention of having a positive outcome, but not the anxiety.
- It is an immensely satisfying feeling when the client starts committing to their own actions to reach their goals and making sincere efforts to achieve what they want. Reaching the final goal is surely important, but its also the efforts to begin, that counts.
- What will surely bring positive outcome is your ability to empathise with your client and your ability to connect the dots that brings the most positive outcomes. Do follow the pattern, but not the rigid mindset regarding process.
