Key Data You See Here First: Real Madrid's Billion-Dollar Revenue, Bar?a Women's Team, and Neymar’s Return to Santos

This global Sports Value′s newsletter main goal is to provide valuable weekly insights into the world of sports and entertainment.

Sports Value ?has one of the most extensive and in-depth information databases globally, with data from Europe, USA, Asia, and Latin America.

Today, I brought three highly relevant data examples that our readers access here long before anywhere else.

Everything that will appear in studies and reports months later is analyzed in-depth here.

Real Madrid and Its € 1 Billion in Revenue

On August 22, 2024, we conducted an in-depth analysis of Real Madrid’s finances and marketing.

Real became the first club in the world to surpass €1 billion in operating revenue.

Revenues – Real Madrid – € Million

A recent 德勤 study has only now confirmed this. But you read it here first. The only difference lies in methodological aspects.

The Success of Bar?a Women's Team

We recently published a comprehensive analysis of Barcelona’s investment in various sports.

The data shows that women's football is a huge success, generating the highest revenue outside men's football and being the only profitable division.

Revenues tby Sport - 2024 - € Million

Net Result by Sport - 2024 - € Million

A 德勤 study confirmed that Bar?a Femení is currently the most successful women's team in Europe.

The French Football Broadcasting Rights Crisis

We published an article detailing the reasons behind the deep crisis in French football's broadcasting rights.

2023 Revenues - Ligue 1 Teams (€ Million)

French football's broadcasting revenue stands at only €500 million(-30%), lower than Brazil’s Série A.

Neymar’s Return to Santos FC

Neymar is leaving Saudi Arabia, returning to Brazil to play for his childhood club, where he first rose to prominence, aiming for the 2026 World Cup.

It sounds like a Netflix documentary: Neymar has signed a six-month contract with Santos, with an option to extend.

Sports Value recently conducted a comparison between Santos’ situation when Neymar stayed until his 2013 move to Barcelona and the club’s current reality.

Santos Futebol Clube is the ninth-largest club in Brazil in terms of fan base. However, between 2011 and 2013, it ranked second in media exposure and sponsorship revenue, just behind Corinthians following Ronaldo Fen?meno’s impact.

Despite having fewer supporters, Santos outperformed Flamengo, Palmeiras, and S?o Paulo in sponsorship deals during that period.

In 2023, Santos earned US$ 16 million from commercial revenues During Neymar’s peak years at the club—when the dollar was much weaker—annual marketing revenue reached US$ 45 million.

In the post-Neymar decade, the sports market has expanded significantly, but Santos lost space to other competitors.

The return of their idol, wearing Pelé’s legendary No. 10 jersey, could boost Santos’ revenue significantly.
