The Key Components of a Client Attracting Content Marketing Strategy
A client asked me yesterday how to go from identifying their avatars (tick ) to creating content their audience will love and respond to.
Great question!
This missing link is known as your “content marketing strategy“.
Your Content Strategy covers your website (blog) and Social Media, and will determine whether the time and effort spent creating content is worthwhile. Get it right and your posts will hit the mark and inspire your clients into action, get it wrong, they’ll disappear into oblivion.
Follow these steps for a Content Marketing Strategy that attracts your soul mate clients:
1. To make sure your content hits the mark, you’ve got to first understand WHO your soul mate client is, and WHAT they want (and the real motivation behind that).
I always start this process by helping my clients get clarity on their audience and their audience’s “hot buttons” (because we make decisions based on emotion, not logic)
This is something most business owners *think* they’ve got nailed, but often haven’t, so it’s worth reviewing.
2. We do a deep dive on the hot buttons so you know what is subconsciously driving your clients, and how to connect with them on an energetic level.
Basically people are either moving AWAY from pain (from a problem or situation they want to be free of) or TOWARDS pleasure (something they dream of or aspire to)
3. Next we define the Point A for your soul mate client (where they ARE) and Point B (where they want to be) and how your signature system, process, offer or program will get them there.
4. Then we write posts that specifically address these different needs (using scenarios and stories), and the steps to get from A to B.
By tapping into your clients’ subconscious drivers, you’ll stand out from all the generic blah blah on Social Media.
5. Basically you are taking your customers on a journey with your content. So wherever they come across you they know HOW you help and WHAT the next step is.
6. We’ll create stunning HEADLINES using my favourite tool, the Headline Analyzer.
Your headline is the “hook” into the post and without a strong headline there’s a good chance your post won’t be noticed at all (let alone read!).
7. Lastly we’ll look at your Call To Action – where do your clients go next, what do you want them to DO?
This is a lot less work than it sounds because when you’re aligned with your soul mate clients and understand how to connect with them energetically it becomes second nature. Your content flows.
