Key to Become a Great HR

Key to Become a Great HR

1. Go beyond being a manager to become a leader. Get people to do & become more of themselves then they are today.

2. Get the best knowledge of business. Being a manager of people, he need to know, understand & work in business to become more creditable.

3. Productivity has to be on the top of the agenda. As an hr, he has to give advice on how to improve & sustain productivity. Activities & productivity are not the same.

4. He has to be extremely proactive. He has to make things happen in the business through people rather than wait for things to happen.

5. He has to make fact based decisions. Instead of getting ahead with the decisions made last year, he has to make devious based on facts, logic & reason.

6. Convert hr results in rupees. If the hr has retained 5 people, promoted 4 people he has give vivid reasons as to how he has converted those hr results in terms of money which benefited the organization.

7. He has to constantly innovate & take risks. Stagnency creates decay. As an hr he has to come out with new ways of doing things.

8. An hr has to prioritize & need to handle people differently. The focus is on what business unit or what jobs are the most important. The hr has to spend quality time with people who are involved with complex difficult jobs instead of correcting reprimanding those who carry out routine mundane jobs.

9. Hr has to be metric oriented. Hr has to rely heavily on measures because that is how one improves.

An hr of today in addition to being a business partner, leading & influencing people has to produce superior results each day which his CEO is able to measure.

Feel free to add any more thoughts..

HR needs to become thought partner to business. This happens when we understand the business and?people associated with it?at all levels.?The core issues and opportunity for HR to add value to business come from it's people. It's very important for HR to have connect with employees across all levels and not just only with leaders.?The better connect we have with people on the?floor, the better we will be able to help?business and it's people.?

Advancements in technology continue to shape the modern workplace and challenge the tried-and-true methods of traditional HR workers. Modern HR managers need an intuitive ability to recognize what the business is looking for and the suitability of the individual. A high level of emotional intelligence (EQ) is a core attribute of every modern HR professional. In today’s “always on” talent economy, where the trends of individualism and integration shape the way of doing business, the Modern HR should learn to make Data-driven decisions and have a continuous focus on properly engaging employees. These are the keys to identifying needs and winning the battle for top talent.

HR was always refereed to as felt need,The dice has changed today as the world has moved up to realise that every business’s success factor is only and only depended on the kind of human resources they have in their team . Of course the other aspects such as business environment, competition, products and services are all contributors to the success of the business but it is the Human Resource that has the ability to steer through a tough business environment,
