The Key Attributes to Leadership

The Key Attributes to Leadership

Inspired by one of my favorite books, Think and Grow Rich, I want to inspire you to become a leader as described by Napoleon Hill. He described the following Key Attributes to True Leadership.

Relentless bravery

A true leader has relentless bravery, not Just during good times, but also during bad times. They handle situations with relentless bravery and aim for results.

The ability to set clear plans

A true leader has a strict routine to gain success, they always plan for the next day and stick to the plan. A strict routine prevents you from getting distracted, it helps you stick to your plan. If you work to achieve your plan, you will work much more effective

The clarity in decision making

When a leader shows doubt while decision making, they show weakness. It’s better to make a decision and go for it than it is to make no decision at all. If you find that your decision is wrong, you can always make adjustments along the way. Indecisiveness can cost you months or even years just lost, while you could have been pursuing your goals.

Going beyond expectations

There are two types of leaders; leaders who do what is asked of them and leaders who go beyond expectations to support their team to deliver the best possible work. When you go beyond expectations and support your team 100%, your team will look at it as working with you, rather than working for you. When you create such a work environment, you will deliver the best end results.

A kind personality

A successful leader is never rude, careless or uninterested in their employees. A true leader shows their employees a kind personality, someone they want to work for. You can show this by listening more, engage more with your employees, show them true empathy and sympathy. You can easily be more sympathetic to your employees by asking them questions and find out their challenges. Show them support. You never know what someone is facing. Life throws us challenges, showing support as a leader, will make them feel heard and understood.

Team spirit

Doing things with your team is essential for creating a good work environment. Team bonding is important in order to succeed as a team. You deliver better work when you work on it together because you can combine the qualities of individuals. Organize team lunches or other team events to strengthen the team bond.

Take full responsibility & ownership

When you encourage your employees to be independent and proactive, you should also back them 100% when they did something wrong. As a leader, you should always take responsibility for the mistakes and shortcomings of the entire team.

I wish for you all to be the best leader you can be, a leader who transforms peoples lives and makes a true difference in the lives of employees and within the organisations, you apply your leadership skills working.
