Kerwin Rae event in Sydney - My highlights

Yesterday, I was at Kerwin Rae event for 2 hours of great content: mindset, sales, marketing and strategies to grow your business.

It really inspired me as a business owner, reason why I would like to share my highlights with you today.

Here are my 2 highlights from the event:

  • Whatever want to do, you have NO excuses not to do it - Impossible is nothing

Kerwin is totally right here. We always find an excuse not to do things and as I say, we find even greater excuses when it's not our priority. "I don't have time, I'm sick, I don't have money...etc.". If you really want to make things happen in life, you actually can do it, but the only question is: are you willing to put the efforts on it to achieve your goals AND is this goal a priority for you?

A few days ago, I was talking to someone who told me "You're so lucky to have your own company and be able to work from anywhere on your computer!". The word "lucky" may not be appropriate. People who achieved things you want to achieve are actually not lucky, believe it or not, just worked harder than orders to make their dreams & goals become true. Instead of being jealous of others, they envy others to a point where they start taking actions to get the same results!

  • 5 stages of the startup growth: growth starts by selling

According to Kerwin, there are 5 stages of the startup growth:
1. Sales (generate cash)
2. Marketing (generate leads)
3. Talents (recruit the right people)
4. Culture (values)
5. Leadership (Management skills).  

People from a marketing background like me would be tempted to start by marketing for their own ego: website creation, pricing, social media strategy, business cards, nice brochures... But the reality is that if you start a business from scratch and don't have much funds, every single day counts and you need to get customers to get "cash in the bank" (first stage). You need to focus on sales to make it work ; then once you are all sorted with the cash part, you can move on to the next stages and start generating leads and get into the marketing part. 

But how can you generate leads for your business?

There are so many ways nowadays to generate leads for your company, you just need to find the right channel to market your products/services and the right strategy to approach your potential customers . Here are some channels we suggest to our customers according to their products/services to get leads directly in their inbox:

  • Facebook advertising
  • Co-registration
  • eDM campaigns
  • Email campaigns using your own database
