Kernel's Latest Announcement And The Rise of BCIs
“Kernel Flow may be the most generally-capable wearable brain interface ever built; enabling for the first time, one to dare imagine a brain interface in every U.S. home by 2033.”
- B. Johnson, Kernel
<Disclaimer: I’m not a neuroscientist nor an MD and I have no experience in BCIs lab experiments other than being a subject in a past experiment using simple EEG. But I have extensive experience with rewiring human brains and minds with the use of hypnosis. Hence my amateur interest and this announcement on BCIs>
Ahhh, the Internet.
Probably the most underrated revolution in the history of humanity and life itself.
And nowadays it is both a blessing and a curse.
If you've seen “The Social Dilemma” on Netflix, then you probably already know why.
If not, I recommend you watch it with friends who suffer from nomophobia.
I think it's more of a diagnosis, but not a cure. Not yet.
But here’s something that - at least in my view - is even more important than the proliferation of fake news, social media tribalism and the global rise of extremism. It’s more important than the results of the upcoming US elections…
And that is…
The incoming rise and proliferation of BCI’s.
It feels like nowadays the line between so-called “real” and “virtual” worlds becomes blurry.
And it seems like with the advancements in VR, our increasing use of screens, creation of better social media avatars and accepting remote work as the "new normal" we’re all going to end up in some version of a virtual world - sooner or later.
And all it will take is a chip in our brain.
Here's some food for thought that scares me and excites me at the same time:
What is the future where a select few have access to more power and knowledge than the masses who will remain "future-illiterate"? And what kind of systems should we implement to replace the industrial-age institutions in a non-violent way?
The future is already here and it's happening fast.
If you like to stay up to date on what's most relevant for the future of our species I highly recommend you check out Bryan Johnson's newsletter and follow future Kernel's announcements.
Not sure about you, but these kinds of news makes me excited about the future.
Until later,
Donald
