Kennie on security - Part 5 (Auditing in Dynamics 365 Business Central)

Kennie on security - Part 5 (Auditing in Dynamics 365 Business Central)

Auditing is part three of the Gold standard in security: Authentication, Authorization, and Auditing.

A couple of months ago, we did some updates to the Business Central documentation to gather relevant articles in one place.

Screenshot of the landing page for Auditing in the Business Central documentation

The landing page is part of the security guide (which has the nice short link aka.ms/bcSecurity) and includes articles from the ancient days of Navision/Dynamics NAV up to the new shiny toys in Microsoft Purview.

For more information, see Auditing overview - Business Central | Microsoft Learn

We made the landing page as a starting point for customers who need to know what is possible and how to get data if they are being audited. Now, I know that this is not perfect, which is part of why I write this post. I am not an auditor, but I want to help make this easier and more transparent for our customers.

So, if you want to influence the documentation of auditing (as a Microsoft partner for Business Central), then go to the Yammer site and join the discussion here:

If you are a customer, feel free to comment here (or write me).

No matter what, I have started collecting feedback on where we can improve the documentation on auditing. Then I will do what I can over the next months to get more information in there.

Auditor Christmas Jokes

Just because it is Friday (and Stella told me to do it)...

Why did Santa's auditor get promoted?

Because he sleighed the Excel spreadsheets and kept the Claus in compliance!

Why did Santa's auditor love Christmas Eve?

Because he got to "wrap up" the year-end audit and "sleigh" the final numbers!?
