Kelly Holmquist and Christer Holmquist partner with PLACE for leverage and expansion

Kelly Holmquist and Christer Holmquist, new PLACE partners, are a formidable duo with a plan to use PLACE tools for leverage and expansion.MORRISTOWN, N.J.; September 2022?— PLACE, the industry’s only all-inclusive platform delivering intuitive technology and business services to top real estate professionals, announced today that The Holmquist Group is now powered by PLACE. PLACE improves profitability and production for the top 20% of real estate teams, and currently supports over 150 real estate businesses across the United States and Canada.

Kelly Holmquist and her business partner, Christer Holmquist, have created an elite real estate business serving North and Central New Jersey. Over their careers, they have helped more than 1,600 families achieve the dream of homeownership. During 2021, they closed $60 million in sales volume, helping 165 families buy and sell real estate.

The duo have skills that complement each other. Kelly is the rainmaker and uses her business acumen to guide every transaction. Christer, on the other hand, is gregarious with an innate ability to talk to anybody about anything. Kelly looks at issues and sets goals in the near future. Christer takes the long view on the future, determining what can be leveraged over time to create more revenue. “Kelly looks at the now and I look at the big picture” explained Christer. “Those different perspectives show how our skills and styles complement each other in this business.”

“It is all about standards. We do business a certain way and refuse to compromise.”

At the beginning of their real estate careers, Kelly and Christer were married. They met while working in Food and Beverage Service at a major hotel and, in 1997, Kelly made the move to real estate. “Christer kept his job so we could pay our mortgage and have benefits,” she remembered. “I quit cold turkey and, within 30 days, I had my real estate license.” Kelly remembers looking for leads starting at 5:30 in the morning when Christer left for work, and still being hard at work when he got home at 8:00 in the evening. “She hit the ground running,” said Christer. “She was rookie of the year and was a natural listing agent.” Christer followed her into real estate in 1999, receiving his broker’s license soon after to manage offices. As Kelly achieved more and more success, the two decided to form a team but they didn’t have a strategy for adding agents. “There really was no rhyme nor reason for our hires. Agents saw what we were doing, the success we were having and they wanted to join.,” explained Christer. As their team and success grew in business, the two amicably ended their marriage but maintained their business partnership.

While the initial process of building a team was less formal, their client care and ethical standards have always been preeminent. “It is all about standards. We do business a certain way and refuse to compromise,” explained Kelly.

“Partnering with PLACE will allow me to be more intentional with my real estate activities, increase my leverage, and focus on helping as many clients as possible with their real estate needs.”

Christer initially suggested a PLACE partnership. After remarrying and moving to Cape Cod, he worked with his coach to manage the business from afar, find ways to improve on their processes, and help their agents thrive. Kelly let Christer do all the research, but after watching a couple of presentations about PLACE, she was all in.“Partnering with PLACE will allow me to be more intentional with my real estate activities, increase my leverage, and focus on helping as many clients as possible with their real estate needs” explained Kelly. “I really look forward to helping the agents on our team, as well as our clients, build wealth through real estate.”

Christer sees PLACE as an opportunity for them to leverage their business and grow the team. “I am always looking at revenue streams and how we can support new avenues for revenue building. We want our team members to reach their full potential and see what is possible in this amazing industry.”

“I am so happy that Kelly and Christer have partnered with PLACE,” said Chris Suarez, co-founder of PLACE. “It is fun to watch the two bounce ideas off of each other, respect each other’s strengths, and build a business based on the highest ethics and commitment to their clients. I am confident that with PLACE, they will achieve their goals.”

“Kelly and Christer have built an amazing business over the last 25 years in real estate and I welcome them to PLACE,” said Ben Kinney, co-founder of PLACE. “They are starting from a solid foundation and I firmly believe that their partnership with PLACE will propel their growth and expand the opportunities they seek for their team.”
