On Sunday at Kaseya Center, the Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 128-107.
Kel'el Ware is taking advantage of every opportunity. Ware had his best game of the season, with a team-high 25 points to go with two blocks, eight rebounds, and two assists. Bam Adebayo didn't have a great shooting night, but he did have 11 rebounds to go with one block and one steal.
Are Ware and Adebayo the future frontcourt duo for the Heat?
They need to be in the frontcourt together. Both men are defensive mindset monsters. Adebayo works better when he is at the four. Ware is the right guy to be at the fifth. You can have two guys, making it difficult for the opponent to come down the middle.
By now, Adebayo should've had at least one Defensive Player of the Year award. There's still a chance for him to earn the accolade. He's in his prime and captain of this Heat team. He's been a great role model for Ware so far. Ware knows that his time is coming, and he's already proving that he can be reliable.
We can't wait to see both of them in the starting lineup more often. The future is bright for the Heat if the coaching staff continues to provide heavy minutes for the young core.
