KEEPING SOUTH DAKOTA SAFE

I love South Dakota!

We have had a very challenging year so far and it is far from over, but people at all levels have stepped up to KEEP SOUTH DAKOTA SAFE.

The right of the American people to peacefully assemble and express their views is guaranteed in the 1st Amendment and for a large part of the day South Dakota watched this unfold as our founding fathers anticipated.

However, when that peaceful protest turned into violence we had to act to protect individuals from getting injured or killed, protect the businesses and residences of the people in the area who are just trying to make a living and live the American Dream and keep the peace.

I want to commend the hard work, planning and dedication of the many law enforcement professionals from the Sioux Falls Police Department, the Minnehaha and Lincoln County Sheriff's Departments, the South Dakota National Guard and the many other agencies involved, our local elected officials, Governor Noem, and the business owners and citizens involved in Keeping South Dakota Safe.
