Keep the Golden Eggs Coming

Keep the Golden Eggs Coming

In the story about the goose and the golden eggs, we learn how greed can drive us to destroy the one things that brings us the reward. In this case, the goose was destroyed and therefore the gift of golden eggs that are worth lot's of money cease to come. In business, we sometimes destroy our geese.

How? By destroying, avoiding, or overcompensating on the business models that work. By doing business the same old way and expecting new results. By believing this year will be different without actually doing something different.

A good business model, accompanied by the right strategies, should continue to give us golden eggs. We might define our eggs differently. For some it is all about the time to have better work-life balance. For others, it is feeling confident that we have enough money to invest into a future retirement.

For others, our golden eggs means more financial blessings so we can be financial blessings to others. Others, may be blessing our teams with bigger bonuses, or giving a larger charitable gift to an organization or our church so that our community thrives.

It doesn't matter how you define or view your golden eggs. What matters is that they keep coming to feed your dreams, your goals, your others. If your business is not producing those golden eggs, then let's come together to disrupt a model that is broken or perhaps destroyed. Let's chat and start your golden egg flow again. We have a Dr. Seuss sticker on our window that says "Try something new every day." It is glorious fun! If we are not expanding we are contracting.

Denise B. Lawrence, MDiv, I love that you included overcompensating on what works- I see this time and time again. Balance is everything!

I like that you allow for everyone's golden eggs to be different, and not only money-driven. Great post, Denise B. Lawrence, MDiv
