Keeping Eyes on the Balls to Continue Looking at the Delectable Pum Pums/Vaginas/Cats /Skunts /Cunts

Some say simple minds entertain simple thoughts. I don’t completely agree—everyone needs a little release now and then. Facebook posts often provide just that. In days of old, kings had jesters and clowns to lighten the mood; today, we have memes, videos, and witty one-liners. Of course, Facebook posts cover the gamut: religion, business, cooking, self-deprecation—and let’s not forget the perennial crowd-pleaser, sex. And yes, it’s those saucy posts that often grab the most attention.

But therein lies the danger. If we are too distracted by playful posts—or have our heads buried in bawdy humor—we risk missing the big picture. The real danger lies not in frivolity itself but in becoming so engrossed in it that we fail to notice when something precious, like Democracy, is at stake.

I don’t begrudge Trump his victory—it serves as a much-needed wake-up call. Democracy isn’t a thing we can take for granted. It is not invincible, and complacency is its silent killer. The old metaphor about a frog in slowly boiling water comes to mind: without vigilance, we won’t notice the moment we’re cooked.

Thankfully, not everyone’s gaze has been fixed solely on Facebook’s sultry offerings. While some are busy chasing likes or crafting clever comebacks, others have kept their eyes on the balls. Their watchfulness has already thwarted some of the most audacious attempts at undermining democracy, including controversial Cabinet picks. Two have bowed out, and a third is struggling to maintain control of the Department of Defense.

So, to my folks: laugh, post, and enjoy life’s lighter moments, but don’t lose sight of the prize. The real goal isn’t fleeting entertainment or indulgence. It’s the continuation of Democracy—the foundation that allows us the freedom to scroll, laugh, and even poke fun at ourselves. Let’s keep an eye on what matters most.
