The Cleaning Company is an experienced cleaning contractor working extensively in the educational sector.

In its recent Strategy for 2022-27, Ofsted commits to “promote children’s safety in everything we do”. This is reflected in the work and processes The Cleaning Company implements in our work with schools and educative facilities.

Our teams are all fully trained beyond standard criteria and expectations. In addition to promoting the safety of children from the risk of viruses and bugs, via our rigorous infection control training, our team members are also trained in safeguarding.

Over the last 5 years, Ofsted has reported on settings where children are educated or cared for in unsafe environments. The Cleaning Company ensures that all operatives working in schools are trained to be responsible for promoting the safety and welfare of children.

Safeguarding

All our school cleaners are carefully vetted and hold a clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) at an enhanced level. Operatives are trained in safeguarding and understand procedures in relation to keeping children safe and how to follow protocol regarding children’s welfare. Our teams remain alert, vigilant and aware of how to respond appropriately to potential situations

Working with and around children can be incredibly rewarding but it also comes with great responsibility. The most important aspect of this role is our obligation to ensure vulnerable individuals are safe from harm. Providing our team with safeguarding training is the perfect way to ensure that our teams have the skills they need to provide a service that supports the protection of children and young people.

By training our team members in safeguarding, we equip them with the knowledge and skills to be aware of any issues and appropriately communicate with the school if required. Our schools, and parents of pupils who study there, can rest assured that The Cleaning Company takes its role very seriously.
