Keep Your Workplace Hygienic

Most jobs are becoming on-site from being WFH, and at this time, it's important to remember the importance of workplace hygiene. Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment can help prevent the spread of germs and illnesses and promote a healthy work environment.

A hygienic workplace also enhances employees' mental state and makes them feel less stressed. ?

Here are some tips to promote workplace hygiene:

  • Wash your hands regularly.

Encourage employees to wash their hands frequently throughout the day, especially before and after eating, after using the restroom, and after touching shared surfaces.

  • Keep work areas clean.

Make necessary arrangements to keep employees' work areas clean and hygienic. This includes wiping down surfaces and equipment with disinfectant wipes and regularly sanitising shared equipment like printers or phones.

  • Encourage healthy habits.

Encourage employees to stay home when they feel sick and cover their mouths when coughing or sneezing. Encourage wearing face masks if needed. Additionally, provide tissues, hand sanitiser, and other hygiene products to promote healthy habits.

  • Declutter your desk.

Ensure that employees' workstations are as organised as possible. If office desks are cluttered and unorganised, the entire workplace would look untidy and overcrowded. Installing trash cans in key workplace places that everyone can access is one approach to keeping everyone's workstation neat and clutter-free.

  • Make sure the kitchen area is clean.

If your workplace provides tea, coffee, and snacks, ensure everyone washes and cleans their cups, cutlery, and utensils after using them. This is due to the possibility that food debris might serve as a germ-breeding environment.

  • Implement social distancing measures.

If any of your employees are sick, encourage maintaining a safe distance from one another to prevent the spread of germs. This can include rearranging workstations, implementing staggered schedules, or offering flexible work arrangements.?
