Keep your two cents and save a lot
Proverbs 20:3 It is to one’s honor to avoid strife,?but every fool is quick to quarrel.
There is someone you hear debating someone else on a juicy topic that probably has no real consequence in your life, but you can't help it... You reach into your proverbial mental pocket and hand over your two cents. This leads to more 'debate', differences in opinion, eye rolling, elevated voices, and soon a small debate turns into one of 'presidential' proportions... instead of debating and discussing, you look like a couple kindergartners fighting over the playdough! This happens even more with 'click bait articles' that pop up and people just 'have to' write their two cents. People get real brave behind the keyboard, but not always very kind, compassionate, or even intelligent sounding. How much time do we waste on having to 'be right' on topics that have no real chance of being solved by arguing over? If I get into an argument about global warming with someone as a financial planner and he or she is an attorney, what are we going to accomplish?!? We are more productive and God honoring when we keep a level head and seek to serve. Our two cents can end up costing a lot. A lot of wasted time and elevated blood pressure. Let's keep our two cents to ourselves to save a lot of mind-numbing wasted time, especially on things that we have no intention of trying to make a positive impact in, and have a blessed day!
