I Hope this finds you in good health and staying safe. I was asked this question recently, "How can we protect mental health when we’re directed to stay home?"
There are many things we can do to safeguard mental health and strengthen the mind. One thing is to keep your energy moving. It’s incredibly important to channel your energy into positive activities and keep it flowing.
Energy is like water. When it’s not moving, it gets stagnant. The longer it stays stagnant, the more it becomes mucky and gross. When you start moving that energy, it improves your state of mind.
It’s like when you go to a yoga class. Think about how you feel before you go and then afterward. Before, your energy was sluggish. During yoga, you’re stretching out your entire nervous system, allowing the energy to flow smoothly through the body. As a result, you feel energetic and uplifted.
While you’re at home during this crisis, focus on easy wins to keep your energy moving.
When my energy is moving, it’s easier to channel it to positive areas of my mind. Like a giant round boulder, when it’s just sitting there, it’s hard to move it. But once it starts moving, it’s easier to direct and channel it.
While you’re at home during this crisis, focus on easy wins to keep your energy moving. Clean or organize different areas of your house, or find creative projects to get that stagnant energy flowing. Once energy is flowing, channel it into making a plan—whether it’s a financial plan for your business or a mental health plan to keep your whole family uplifted while you’re all at home together.
Few more simples ways to keep your energy moving;
1.Enjoy Nature, 2. Perform Random Acts of Kindness, 3. Develop an Attitude of Gratitude, 4. Spend time talking with Positive People, 5. Look for the Silver Lining Immediately, 6. Breathe Deeply, 7. Engage in Positive Self-Talk, 8. Engage in Rigorous Exercise, 9. Journaling is a great way, 10. Move Through Your Day Mindfully, 11. Take Care of Yourself Spiritually.
When you wake up in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy and to love.
Get that energy moving, or it’s going to stagnate, which leads to depressive thoughts.
Always be in Peace
