Keep Showing Up
About two years ago, my client and friend shared with me his?dream of writing a book. Although it had been a?dream for many years, he?never actually did anything about it. Until one day the pain of not writing his book outweighed the comfort of procrastination. He finally made?it a priority.?
He stopped making excuses and started writing regularly. Some days he felt so inspired that words flowed and he?wrote pages. On other days it was hard to even sit at?his desk. Either way,?he kept writing.
Because that's what we do when we finally make a dream a priority. We start and keep showing up.?
I am so happy to share that in less than two years later, he completed his book.?It's?coming out in a couple of weeks. I'm so proud of him for achieving one of his biggest dreams.?
What is one dream stirring around your heart that you've been putting off? Maybe you're waiting for the perfect time. Maybe you'll hoping the conditions will be just right one day. But deep down, you know those are simply excuses.?
Decide to take action and show up. Put in the work. Get comfortable in the messy middle. Believe in your idea so much that nothing and no one can stop you from showing up.?
Show up when it's hard. Show up when it's inconvenient. Show up when it doesn't make sense. Show up when you feel like quitting.?
Here's to showing up for yourself.?

2 年Inspiring, Kate! I appreciate you and your words this day. It is fun and exciting to dream; it can be daunting to actually take one step…then another step…and another toward pursuing one’s dream. Keep speaking truth and giving hope, my friend!
I can relate! It took a while to write my first book (with my brother) about my favorite actor. But once I got in the "groove" and momentum - the main focus was was needing to be "perfect". Feeling like "everything" has to be perfect prevents most, if not all, of us from starting or finishing something. This feeling of having the end product to be perfect was even more important in my second book because it is a financial how-to one. And although the book I am writing now is mostly anecdotal and opinion-based, the need for that "perfection" is still there, but keep going is right! :)
