Dear Hopeful,
There are times in our lives when who we can be and who we are clash. The strategies that have brought us this far no longer seem to work, not because they are not good but because they are only good enough to maintain where we are; we have never experienced who we can be, so who we are seems like the logical option.
Inertia sets in, and if no decision is made, who we are will continue to outthink, outlive, and outlast who we can be. It’s comfortable to stick with the known, go with the flow and stay safe. Disruption, in itself, is unsettling, threatening the status quo and fear inducing.
To choose ‘who we can be’ is to agree to become comfortable with the uncomfortable, to take that ‘leap of faith’ to climb instead of sitting still, to reach beyond ourselves for the evolved self, to be ambitious, not desperate; to want the unattained, not the unattainable; to dream and then wake up and do.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.
As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Marianne Williamson
Who we can be is limitless if we only dare to step into our greatness.
Many religious and self-help texts try to tell us that we are more than the sum of our existence, and that if we are willing to expand our minds to accommodate the possibilities, then we can manifest them into reality.
Let’s try something, pick 1 thing/activity or area of your life you want to improve; visualize what the best possible outcome is, then find a routine that gets you closer to achieving it daily.
We may stumble and we may fall, but that’s just the preamble, we’ll stand tall.
Feel free to share, and maybe we can have a mini-campfire session in the comments section!
Yours Hopefully,

2 年Who we can be vs who we are - a constant struggle. Once we can take our eyes from survival mode, it becomes a step in the right direction. Thanks Lenny ??
