The search may be long and the queue of job seekers appear endless, you may see yourself a great distance from getting that dream job but never for desperation pay anyone for any access code to any online test for any job.
A few weeks ago I applied for a job. About three weeks after, I received an email requesting that I pay ten dollars to an account before I get access code for an online test.
I wrote back to ask if the account provided is dollar or naira and was told it is a naira account and 10 dollar is equivalent to 3500 naira. I followed with a question that attempted to find out the exact company the recruiter'' was ''recruiting'' me into and till this moment he or she has not given any response.
Fast forward, two days ago, I missed a call and when I called back around 7:40 PM the young man said he is a customer care representative from a bank. I asked which of the banks and he began asking which bank I was expecting to receive a call from and then said he represents the bank in which I got my Bank Verification Number BVN( this is a number that connects all accounts belonging to an individual and helps the government track transactions to put money laundering in check).
It was obvious he wanted me to give him the name of my bank because he had no idea what bank I bank with neither is he representing any commercial bank.
I suspect the only bank he represents is the ''Bank of His Stomach'' that satisfies his greed and feeds his unwillingness to engage in lawful business. He is a scammer! And just in case you wonder my source, the trend of the discussion revealed this.
There is no understanding of customer service in the pattern of his discussion and if I had given him the name of the bank, the next questions would have attempted to find out my BVN from which he will attempt hacking into my account for his business.
I actually suspect he got my phone number from my CV. He most likely is the ‘’Recruiter’’ that has no answer to the question ‘’which company are your recruiting me into ?’’
If you are searching for a job, stay focused, keep your eyes and brain open and take desperation out of your job search.
Remember, there are persons seeking to reap your sowing !
If the company can’t afford a free recruitment test, neither will it be able to pay for your services.
Did you get any emails from [email protected] or a call from 08134187627 ? Stay alert when you correspond with either of the two.
Have you encountered such "Recruiters ? What was your experience and how did you handle it? Please share in the comments
Keep learning and keep searching!

5 年I have never before heard of an "online recruitment test" for job seekers, let alone a test that you need to *pay* for to see if you qualify for the position. Total scam.
