Thanks to all who contributed, and my hopes that you encountered kindness everywhere this week!
November 13, 2022 was International Kindness Day. I'm not sure why that sentiment is limited to one Sunday in November. So, why not keep the spirit of that day spilling over into the work weeks ahead?
For some, the weeks around the holidays and fiscal close of most businesses can be harried. Let's end the year with some kindness left over to spill into 2023! Since music can change and maintain our mood, I'm offering some tunes that can recharge thoughts of kindness as we work our way through the weeks ahead. I invite you to contribute yours.
Here's how it works. If you listen to any special tunes with kindness as a central theme, drop the artist's name and title of the work in the comments, below. If you are an artist, feel free to share a link to your work as well. At the end of the week, I'll republish the comprehensive kindness playlist* for all.
Thanks for your contributions!
Natalie Merchant, "Kindness and Generosity"
Harry Stiles, "Treat People with Kindness"
Beethoven ‐ 26 Welsh Songs WoO 155, No 21, “Cupid's Kindness"

2 年The Smiths, I Know It's Over. This is actually song about death and someone lamenting over a life filled with regret so I don't recommend listening to it if you need to be recharged. :-) I do recommend reflecting on the lyrics "…?It's so easy to laugh. It's so easy to hate. It takes guts to be gentle and kind." because I do think we need to be very intentional about being kind, starting with empathy to fuel it.
