Keep Hope Alive! (Story of Ananya & Varun)
Sometimes to attain the title of a 'parent', one has to put in continuous efforts and remain hopeful. The parenthood journey of Ananya and Varun sets the perfect example for it. Even after so many gloomy days & desperation, they actively did what was right while clinging to their hopes. And eventually, they found life's greatest bliss.
Let's unravel the journey of Ananya & Varun from infertility to parenthood.
“As I sit here narrating my infertility journey, it still feels unreal that my dream of being a mother has finally come true. Our infertility story started back in October 2017, when we planned to make a complete family. Not even in my wildest dream did I ever think of the word 'infertility' and that I would have to wait this long to be a mother.
Confused why month after month, year after year, nothing was happening, we assumed that it just wasn’t our time. We had been trying for more than 2 years and truly started to lose hope by the 3rd year.
We still wonder why it took us so long to realize that something was not right. At this point, we went to our OB-GYN, where we got some tests done.
She was able to quickly diagnose me with Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). After all the years of having symptoms, I couldn’t help but feel angry that I wasn’t aware of this diagnosis years before I was trying to grow my family.
We then moved on to medicated timed intercourse which was unsuccessful. She then suggested that conceiving naturally might not be possible because of the condition. So, she decided to do intrauterine insemination (IUI).
We went through 2 IUI cycles before finally transferring to Crysta IVF. I’ll never forget how hopeless and depressed I felt after our second unsuccessful IUI attempt.
Once with Crysta IVF, we had more hope after seeing all the success stories and success rates. But honestly, I still had that fear of being infertile forever.

After a much-needed long consultation with Dr. Sonal Anand, we decided to begin in vitro fertilization (IVF) the following month. My 1st IVF cycle began after a month; me and my husband's anxiety were up to the neck.
After the first IVF attempt, we had yet to receive a positive pregnancy test. The night I found out the first attempt was unsuccessful and resulted in a chemical pregnancy, I had a thought in my mind to stop believing in hopes. But on the same night, Dr. Sonal personally called me to tell me not to worry and to keep hope alive.
After a slight change in medicational protocol, she started another round of IVF, which gave us 3 healthy embryos. I hadn’t much hope left to cling to this time, but my husband and Dr. Sonal were completely optimistic about the outcome.
And finally, it happened. It was a success. I couldn’t believe it when I heard the heartbeat for the first time; the tears just couldn’t stop rolling from my eyes. We now have a beautiful baby who is 8 months old.
We’re so thankful to Dr. Sonal and Crysta IVF for making all of this real. And also, my husband who is always there for me to hold my hands.
From my parenthood journey, I learned whatever I could - Don’t give up, even when it feels completely hopeless.”
