Keep calm...
There is no doubt that the next few months are going to be the toughest our economy and probably every business has seen. Every one of us will face challenges and obstacles. Businesses like individuals will have to cut cloth accordingly. Some businesses won't survive, that's a stark reality. Every single business is impacted in some way - even those who will flourish in crisis.
That said I genuinely think that with the right mindset, effort and strategy - this moment in time will give you a resilience and drive you never knew possible. I am a massive believer in the power of positive thinking and actions. We live in a world that has so much talent and technology that we are incredibly well placed to emerge stronger. This situation has also taught us so much about what's important on an individual level.
The one thing that stood out about Elite Group from day one was the positive energy and the investment we make in our people and customers. I am proud that in these crazy times, we are continuing to invest in our people and and as ever we are not looking at the situation with tunnel vision. We are continuing to grow and as a result will be the stable, experienced business that customers continue to look to.
This crisis has shown how important long term planning and looking after your customers is. Implementing solutions that let you quickly adapt and scale accordingly. Working with suppliers that understand your business and strategy.
We will come out of this. It's so important not to panic and make short term but permanent decisions to this temporary situation we find ourselves!
I genuinely believe come spring we will be in a totally different situation than where we find ourselves today. Advances in technology, medicine, testing and even understanding the virus behaviour better will help massively. We all just have to reset our immediate expectations and plans.
While it might seem like the apocalypse outside - try and switch off to the noise. Focus 100% of your energy onto what you can influence. Focus on the positives. Focus on what you do have. Focus on the opportunity.
For businesses that have to close, particularly those that have invested time and money in becoming Covid compliant I feel massively for you. But we have to use these 4 weeks to our advantage. Use the time wisely. Plan, prepare be productive. Lets hop the government do the same with their containment and exit strategy!
Keep calm. Keep positive. Keep humble. Keep being grateful. And keep working hard.
