KD's Pan-American Trek #27: Argentina
As we near the end of my Pan-American Trek using using Google Street View we''ll cross the border from Chile into Argentina.
When you cross into northwestern Argentina you immediately see the old railway that still has its covered passages, I assume to protect from snow avalanches above.
I was getting a bit anxious at this point of the Trek, about 16 months, so rather than visit the wonderful cities in the interior of Argentina, I went straight to Buenos Aires. As we near Buenos Aires, we cross over the Laguna de Gomez.
The town square of Lujan, Argentina, is straight out of a story book.
Bueno Buenos Aires! The city is an exciting blend of old and new - even though my visit was virtual, this is a place that is now on my bucket list. There was plenty of picture taking in the street.
As in the other South American cities, Buenos Aires was a bonanza of graffiti and wall art. The images came across to me as particularly strong - angry, sullen, intelligent, suspicious, rebellious, and spiritual.
