ONE MONTH. TWO SUCCESSFUL EVENTS.
October was a very busy month for us as we attended two very successful exhibitions.
Education Estates? in Manchester was a great success, consisting of 132 exhibitors and 2,766 attendees. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting existing and future supply chain partners, all helping to create more sustainable academic environments.
We also enjoyed a fantastic Architecture + Building Expo Event in Dublin, attended by over 1,800 unique visitors and 57 exhibitors. An unmissable opportunity to showcase our market-leading architectural aluminium fa?ade products.

60 YEARS OF BUILDING UK LEGACIES
As we celebrate 60 years of Kawneer in the UK, we’ve been taking a look back to where it all began and to understand the brands history and heritage.
We introduce our founder, Francis John Plym, his invention of two copper mouldings in 1906 that pioneered the modern storefront and how Kawneer got its name.
We follow Francis and Kawneer, from the very beginning, to the Kawneer Runcorn Office opening in 1963 and on in to the 21st Century, sharing all the developments and innovations that have taken place along the way. Swedish born Francis Plym had a vision that began the Kawneer journey that we are proud to say continues to this day.

CONGRATULATIONS HARRY, FAREWELL BOB!
We are thrilled to introduce Harry Keable as our new Southern Regional Sales Manager.
Harry, who joined Kawneer in 2020 as an Architectural Adviser, enjoys a well-deserved promotion to a pivotal role. In his new role he will lead a dynamic team in the critical task of nurturing and converting significant sales prospects. With his industry knowledge and experience, he’s the perfect fit for the position.
As we happily welcome Harry to his new role, however, we’re sad to say goodbye to Bob Powell who recently retired after 17 very successful years at Kawneer. We wish Bob all the best in his well-earned retirement and thank him for his years of dedication and hard work
CONSTRUCTION IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The latest ‘Glenigan Construction Review’, reflecting activity to the end of September 2023, encouragingly shows a 32% increase in detailed planning approvals against last year.
The review does, however, also report a 12% fall in main contract awards compared to the same time a year ago. Also, a 40% decline in project-starts against 2022 levels is another key finding revealed in the report.
