Kavitha’s Story: Why not again?

Kavitha Sridharan had a promising career in IT with about five years of experience before taking a break due to her pregnancy and relocating abroad with her husband. Her focus shifted entirely to her family, especially raising her daughter, and her career had become a distant memory. But one day, her daughter asked Kavitha a simple question: “If you worked before, why can’t you start again?” This question sparked a revelation for Kavitha as she began rethinking her return to the IT workforce.

However, Kavitha’s path back wasn’t straight or bump-free. After a 7-year break, her industry knowledge was outdated, and she felt overwhelmed with how much had changed in technology. After facing rejection in several interviews, Kavitha realized she needed to brush up on her skills and relearn technologies. “I was literally taking notes on everything I read,” she says, recalling her efforts to prepare for interviews. In the midst of her research, she discovered ‘Beyond Your Break’ through a Facebook post and felt an immediate sense of possibility.
