Katy's Genius You Story

"Before I embarked on the wholly enlightening, sometimes scary (but always kind, guided and gentle) journey that is Genius You, I worked with Simone in a professional capacity and after that I couldn’t not do Genius You.

Simone isn’t afraid of getting right to the heart of things or tackling big things head on. She goes boldly and brightly and looks the thing (the brand, the identity, the person – whatever the ‘thing’ might be…) right in the eyes, with great love. And she does this in her own inimitable, vivacious and infectious way.

I had to be brave. When I decided to turn this level of scrutiny upon myself – little old me – I found the prospect scary and foreign.

It’s hard to even attempt to sum up my Genius You experience. For starters, it’s not something that can be ‘summed up’, more like something that’s only just getting started, a door that has slowly, with great work and practice, eased its way open.

I know myself better now, I like myself more. I want more for myself, and need less – if that even makes sense. I understand a lot more about what matters to me and how I matter to those around me.

I can make a difference, I’m true to my own genius. The possibilities are giddying. At times the process scared the heck out of me.

There are still places, things, I need to visit but haven’t yet mustered up the courage. That’s okay, though. The time for that will come because I have the framework now; I’ve seen – part of – the view on the other side of the door. And – with constant work – the time for the rest of it is ahead of me. And I can’t wait for all of it."
