The new Icelandic TV-Series released the 17 jun 2021, counting eight episodes in season one. It was created by?Sigurjón Kjartansson and?Baltasar Kormákur. The main casting is composed by?Guerún Yr Eyfj?re,?íris Tanja Flygenring and?Ingvar Sigurdsson.

Inspired in old Icelandic Sagas, apparitions of death people (revenants and a kind of replicants), whom have some affairs to solve among the living. A cozy, little town, Vik, in the south of the country, is severely degraded by the constant activity of a volcano. Nature and humans suffering for more than a year of it. Most of the population is gone. Only scientists-vulcanologists and some reluctant inhabitants stay on a secured area, where only people with a permit from the authorities is allowed to get in.

The plot is sequential, short segments, sometimes non-linear, depicting the characters and circumstances, in details that paint, little by little, the whole picture. The ambiance is depressive, dim light and ashes covering a gigantic surface. The presence of the volcano is impressive, oppressive, constant. The story gradually becomes murky and terrifying! The shooting is remarkable, precise, original. The music is subtle, perfect. The actors are at the level of the whole production.
