Kate Moss’s Zara Collection Is Everything You’ve Been Waiting For!

It all feels deliciously naughty, like a time warp, in which we’re transported back to Glastonbury 2005.

Over the last year or so, Zara has been assembling a dream team of fashion icons. From collaborating with celebrity stylist Harry Lambert for befitting Harry Styles' standout looks on two colorful, knit-heavy collections, to unveiling a capsule by former Yves Saint Laurent creative director Stefano Pilati just last month, Zara has been making bold moves.

Even photographer Steven Meisel stepped out from behind the camera in September 2023 to design a line for the brand and shoot the accompanying campaign (of course).?

Now, Britain’s foremost supermodel Kate Moss is completing this dream team by stepping into the Zara spotlight.?

On November 30, Kate Moss and Zara will launch the 'Party Capsule,' a collection arriving just in time for the festive season.

For this collaboration, Moss worked closely with Marta Ortega Pérez, chair of Zara’s parent company Inditex集团 , and her longtime friend and stylist Katy England, renowned for her work with the legendary Lee McQueen.?

"I’ve enjoyed working with Zara on campaigns over the years and always loved their collaborations, so when Marta and I first talked about this project, I was excited about getting to design clothes again and work with Katy England," Moss said in a statement.

Zara has announced that the upcoming release will feature both ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, with Moss revealing that the collection will be centered around party outfits. The first pictures highlight plenty of glitzy designs and party-perfect dresses. The collection also includes stylish tailoring, leopard prints, velvet, and classic little black dresses.

"For this collection, I wanted to create the perfect party capsule – pieces that feel effortlessly chic but with an edge," she explained. "Mixing classic cuts with just the right amount of glam to take you through the party season."

The collection isn't just all disco, glamorous looks. It also features a reimagined 1930s vintage tea dress, alongside a pair of cigarette trousers that Moss calls a "wardrobe essential." The capsule includes a variety of prints, with leopard being a key favorite of the model.?

In campaign shots taken by Moss's long-time collaborators Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, she wears pieces from the collection in what appears to be a crowded club’s private backroom. The model lounges on a leather couch in a silky ivory set, then slip into a shimmering knit mini dress before heading back out to the dance floor.

The collection is inspired by pieces from Moss’s personal archive, which she’s thrilled to reveal. One coat, for example, was inspired by a vintage piece that’s been "borrowed" by many people over the years. "It looks so luxurious," she says, explaining that when she received the final versions from production, she could barely tell the difference between the original and the replica. "That’s always a great sign."

Another is a faux pony hair peacoat in the collection, which is inspired by one Moss received as a hand-me-down. The original had her friend's initials sewn into the lining, making it easily recognizable.?

In a similar way, customers can personalize their own version of the coat. This thoughtful touch means you can leave it unattended—like at a club—without worrying about it being taken. "You don’t want someone swiping your coat," Moss jokes.

Of course, Moss is very well known for her collaborative collections with another high-street retailer, Topshop, in the Noughties in the 2000s. From 2007 to 2014, these collections were a huge hit, flying off the shelves. Nearly two decades later, the demand for these iconic pieces remains strong, with people still reselling items from the collection. It’s clear that Moss’s impact on fashion is enduring, and her new collection is sure to spark the same excitement.
