Kasapreko PLC Inspires Students of St. Mary’s SHS to Embrace STEM
Kasapreko PLC hosted its second STEM for Her outreach program on Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. Mary’s Senior High School (SHS) - Korle Bu.
The initiative, aimed at inspiring young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), featured expo sessions led by female professionals from Kasapreko. Students explored various aspects of the production process, such as ingredient blending, machine maintenance, label design, and the role of mathematics in production operations. To complement these sessions, a Guidance Table was set up, offering personalized career advice and answering students' questions.
The event continued in the school’s assembly hall, where Ogesi Sylvester , Technical Director for Kasapreko PLC , delivered a #keynote address inspired by the legacy of Marie Curie, the “Mother of radioactivity and modern physics.” He highlighted the importance of curiosity, resilience, and diligence in STEM fields. The session also included personal stories from Kasapreko’s female professionals, who encouraged the students with their experiences of perseverance and passion for science.
Kasapreko's STEM for Her initiative reaffirms its commitment to empowering young women and breaking gender barriers in STEM. Scholarships were announced to support outstanding students, and the program concluded with an engaging session where students connected with Kasapreko professionals for mentorship.
