I'm often reminded by my mentors at the workplace to "Ensure an error-free pre-program to deliver a seamless workshop." We facilitated over 1700 individuals for our recent intervention, putting together a two-day learning extravaganza for a leading MNC.
Logistically, this workshop was quite demanding as we had to facilitate over 800 participants each day for two consecutive days. Every workshop unfolds in two phases: the pre-program and the program.
Let's delve into the nuances of the pre-program, which serves as the backbone of every workshop we facilitate. How many people do you think would have invested in the pre-program phase? 15-20 or even more? Well, it was just one person handling the entirety of the pre-program work along with @Anil Kumar for support and help. The scale is unimaginable, yet, with over a week of planning and preparation, we delivered the workshop, leading to India's Biggest Collaborative Canvas.
Imagine the alertness and mindfulness required while procuring the necessary materials and packing them with finesse for so many teams. Yet, Rohit Saroha , the Co-Facilitator of this intervention, single-handedly managed all the logistics and ensured a picture-perfect pre-program preparation. Frankly speaking, I do not have words to express the level of involvement, time, and energy that was invested by him and Anil (responsible for making kits and packing) in closing all the elements in time. Not to forget the intense detailing when it comes to packing, which is another milestone these two individuals have set. In total, a number of challenge kits were packed along with many other elements. The long landscape board to collaborate all the canvases, resulting in India's Biggest Canvas, is not something that happens every day. Attention to detail and quick thinking on the feet are qualities displayed by Rohit that are beyond commendable, especially during the workshop. There is so much to learn from them; they truly are an inspiration.
Now, if I have to talk about the seamless and successful delivery of the workshop, the credit goes to the meticulous pre-program and an amazing team, which became the source of my confidence and trust, boosting my morale to another level. This left me with no doubt and enabled me to focus on ideating and upskilling my facilitation game to match the level of perfection displayed by the pre-program team.
When it comes to facilitation, I was a novice at the start of my career in team-building. However, today, after delivering an intervention at this scale, I can proudly say that this has been one of the biggest milestones I could achieve in the realm of facilitation. Managing over 800 participants each day, taking them through various challenges, and debriefing each element where immense learning is highlighted is something that requires strong preparation, trusting the process, and more importantly, trusting oneself. All this was possible because of the handholding of my mentors (Neo and Nishit), whose unwavering support not only empowered me but also made me understand what I am capable of in this realm.
While I take center stage to facilitate, it’s the unconditional support of the team that enabled me to be myself and give my 100 percent to make the learning extravaganza an unforgettable one for all the participants. Whether it's cluster facilitators or team members, each of them added immense value to my being by displaying true comradeship. From playing the right kind of music at the right time to putting the last canvas on the board, everything was smooth and seamless because of the team's involvement, commitment to deliver the best, and facilitation mindset. Without this amazing and hardworking team, what good am I? The workshop was a learning ground not just for the participants but also for the entire program team that facilitated this magnificent India’s Biggest Collaborative Million Pixel Canvas.
Kudos to the entire team, forever in gratitude!
