Kapco Global and Avio-Diepen announce new name 'Proponent'.

BREA, Calif. (October 3, 2017) — Kapco Global and Avio-Diepen announced today that they will continue their path toward full integration under the new name Proponent. The two aircraft parts distributors joined forces in May 2016, creating the largest independent aerospace distributor in the world. Under the Proponent name, the two companies will work together to differentiate themselves within the industry as a customer-centric organization with a focus on customer relationships, creative problem-solving and value-added distribution.

“Proponent is a one-word mission statement,” said Proponent CEO, Andrew Todhunter. “It means ‘advocate, champion, supporter.’ Our goal with this new company is to be a champion for our suppliers and customers. We will do everything in our power to help our suppliers and customers succeed.”

The aim of the Proponent identity is to create a new and different aerospace distribution experience for customers. With hundreds of thousands of high-quality parts, global scale and decades of reliable on-time performance, Proponent will be able to compete with larger aircraft parts distributors, but the organization’s goal is to differentiate the company by placing a greater emphasis on deep partnerships, agility and innovative service offerings.

A key priority for Proponent will be listening closely to the challenges of customers and suppliers, and being able to work closely with each customer and supplier to create a unique solution for each situation. Proponent hopes to fill a gap between the needs of the industry and what is being offered by other aerospace distribution companies. Among the innovative services and solutions that Proponent is focusing on to address this gap are customized solutions to aid in vendor consolidation, product kitting and tailored stocking solutions.

U.S.-based Kapco Global and Netherlands-based Avio-Diepen bring 115 years of collective experience in aviation. Both companies specialize in supplying aftermarket aircraft parts to the world’s leading MROs and airlines, with only a 10% overlap in product offerings. The identity refresh allows Proponent to give prominence to additional services and business development efforts in which Kapco Global and Avio-Diepen have engaged but have yet to elevate as key market differentiators.

The Proponent identity will make its public debut at the MRO Europe trade show on October 3, 2017.
