Our commitment to supporting startups in the climate tech industry has been at the core of our mission. This year, we strengthened our role as a trusted partner for startups, offering guidance on growth strategies, connecting clients with investment opportunities, facilitating grant applications, and linking them to key players within the industry. Our team stays at the forefront of industry challenges and strategies, ensuring that we can expertly navigate the complexities of startup development and growth.

We pride ourselves on being more than consultants—acting as an extension of our clients’ teams, dedicated to driving meaningful impact and advancing sustainability. In Focus

This year, sustainability remained at the heart of our mission at Kantar Advisory Partners. Through collaborations with our partners and clients, we delved into critical areas of sustainable development, conducting in-depth research and driving innovation. From exploring solutions in water management to advancing renewable energy and championing carbon reduction, we aimed to address global challenges while supporting startups and innovators making a tangible difference. Here's a closer look at some of the key topics and projects that defined our sustainability efforts in 2024.

Water Management

KAP spent some time this year working to improve sustainability in water management. We researched and wrote sustainability insights about the value in waste water brine, the risk pollution spills pose to UK rivers, the mismatch between water demand and supply, and overall about the water crisis and management. In the beginning of the year, we partnered with CEWAS, and supported their startups who worked in water sustainability, and two months ago, we welcomed a new client in Showerkap, who work to address the global water crisis with water accounting smart-tech. Additionally we explored how our longstanding client, Biofuel Evolution could enter the waste water treatment sector.

Energy

KAP has worked with clients across the energy space, from a carried-through relationship with Improved Energy, going on its second year, to welcoming new clients in hydrogen, like H2au and Aviura, to joining forces with GT Wings who is working to decarbonise the maritime industry.

We published information similarly widespread within the realm of the energy transition umbrella, focusing on solar panel advancements, wind mill drawbacks, natural hydrogen growth, gas heating issues, waste to energy exploration, and overall ensured we were up-to-date with the ever-changing and fast growing industry of renewable energy. We also continued working with long-term client Biofuel Evolution, who earlier this year were awarded, and last month, concluded, a £50k grant from Innovate UK.

Carbon Reduction

KAP maintained its partnership with Sustain:able, whilst developing a new partnership with Proclime, as well as working with our new client Floras on decarbonising supply chains across different sectors. We also wrote about decarbonisation projects across the UK including the decarbonisation of St James Gate Guinness Factory, and explored the success of global agendas to decarbonise, from SDG progress reports to the evolution of carbon markets at COP 29.

We attended, exhibited, and partnered with the UK’s largest net-zero congress, Innovation Zero, which brings together innovators, funders, and policy makers to accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy. Look forward to how we’re expanding our participation for the coming year. Innovation Zero also published a feature article by KAP founders Amina and Mo about empowering young entrepreneurs for a sustainable future, a recap of COP28.

Forming Partnerships

We are proud to reflect on the partnerships —both long standing and new— that continue to drive our shared mission forward. Our ongoing collaborations with Cambridge Cleantech, Sustain:able, and ZESTAs remain a cornerstone of our work at KAP, fostering impactful initiatives that push for a more sustainable and innovative future across different sectors from shipping to energy.?

This year has also brought exciting new partnerships with KEZAD Group, Energy Innovation Agency, Proclime, Ayming, and CEWAS. These collaborations mark an important step as we expand our reach and explore opportunities to collectively tackle challenges within the climate/ green tech startup landscape.?

We are thrilled to continue building our partnership with Innovation Zero and can’t wait to see it come to a head in April!

We concluded the year with our end-of-year party in December, where we had the honour of bringing together our network to celebrate a year of great success.

As for 2025, we are kicking off the year on a stronger note than what we left 2024 on. This starts with partnering with Sustainable Foods London for their 2025 edition in January and continuing our strong support for our clients and working with our wider network.

For the coming year, look out for a strengthened KAP presence at events such as Innovation Zero in addition to great success stories. We look forward on having you with us to continue this journey, see you soon!
