Kal Ho Naa Ho

Kal Ho Naa Ho

Kal Ho Naa Ho, a title some of you might have heard before. It’s the name of a famous Bollywood movie from 2003. Yes, I am a Bollywood fan :)

The title literally translates into, there may be no tomorrow. The film teaches us to focus on the present, be appreciative of what we have and realising our strengths and use those to move forward.

Of course, there’s a lot of singing, dancing, emotions and great acting. Now what’s the point I am trying to make with this post? Exactly that, Kal Ho Naa Ho.

Being a futuristic person myself, I know how easy it is to get lost in our goals, our ambitions, our plans for the future, that we forget to just focus on our present situation even though we know there is no guarantee that we will be here for the next 2 years we are planning for, even tomorrow is not guaranteed. But I’ve learnt how important is to just stop sometimes and show gratitude for our lives, be thankful for the people we have in our lives, the goals we have already accomplished and how we have evolved as a person.

I have also been through times in my life where my present situation wasn’t an ideal one, it wasn’t a place of peace and it was very helpful to be able to focus on the future and see a way out of the situation. In hindsight, I could have helped myself even more by understanding my strengths and focusing on them to move forward.

Today, I am so thankful for having 2 healthy, kind and intelligent sons. My family, although scattered across the world, I know they love me and will always be there when I need them. Thankful for being healthy myself, for having a roof over our heads, having food on our table, nice clothes to wear and being able to travel to some beautiful places. There is so much more I can put down here.

So just make sure you enjoy today because KAL HO NAA HO and think of what you are thankful for in your lives. Have a great day !
