Kajabi done wrong is worse than no Kajabi at all

One of the things about Kajabi is that it's easy to set up.

But...

When you’re running a serious business and relying on Kajabi to manage complex workflows, funnels, and automations, it’s just as easy to get it very wrong.

When your back-end systems aren’t built properly, you’re not just wasting time, you’re losing leads and money.

Get it wrong and your revenue is in the wind.

At the basic level, sure, you can DIY Kajabi. Anyone can set up a landing page and a few emails.

But when you start using Kajabi as the engine behind an enterprise-level setup, managing lead magnets, challenges, memberships, and beyond, you need a seamless system.

Here’s what I mean:

I recently created a workflow for a client that takes their leads through every step of their free challenge:

  1. Sign-up Form: Captures leads effectively and integrates with their email list.
  2. Challenge Nurture Sequence: Automated and Conditioned emails that keep participants engaged throughout the challenge.
  3. Membership Conversion: Triggered sequences that guide participants toward joining their membership.
  4. Post-Challenge Follow-Up: Automated nurturing paths depending on whether the lead joins or not, ensuring no one falls through the cracks.

This isn’t just about having pretty landing pages - it’s about creating systems that work. The workflow I designed ensures every lead is nurtured and no opportunity is missed.

I’ve blurred out the client-specific details for privacy, but I’m sharing the workflow here so you can see how it looks in practice.

(Feel free to use this as a template for your Kajabi workflow.)

Kajabi Enterprise Lead Magnet workflow

A Word of Caution

A big part of our work involves untangling the wreckage left behind by non-experts who’ve set up Kajabi for enterprise-level businesses.

It’s not their fault, they thought they could manage it themselves or hired someone who didn’t fully understand the complexities of funnels and automations.

But Kajabi done wrong is worse than no Kajabi at all. It creates chaos, wastes money, and frustrates both business owners and their leads.

That’s why we focus on setting up the right systems in the back end.

When everything runs smoothly, you’ll:

  • Maximise the ROI on your marketing.
  • Keep your leads engaged and moving forward.
  • Build a business that scales, instead of one that stalls.

An enterprise level business is so much more complex. I like keeping things simple. Fortunately, Kajabi excels at that too.
