a Japanese business philosophy of continuous improvement of working practices, personal efficiency, etc.
Once a year I like to get into a course to extract myself from the day to day, so that I cannot only learn but see things with perspective and more headspace. As an Agile practitioner the concept of Continuos Improvement is key. Kaizen is a journey.
Working with teams, individuals and organisations to constantly find ways to improve, not only their products and services, but their processes, interactions and themselves.
The reason for this is our ever changing environment.
Last century we focused on execution rather than innovation. We had clear what to accomplish and how to deliver it. Defined modules, to roles, processes, practices… to deliver defined plans. Made sense. Now things change more quickly. To stay competitive we need to inspect and adapt more rapidly and deal with greater uncertainty. Only the ones who learn will keep up with the future.
So this year I embarked myself into a master course for the last step on the Scrum Master path: Scrum Master Professional.
And happy to share that I am now Certified Scrum Professional, which takes it to the completion from its path. (Read more on Certifications in Scrum What's Your Journey? )
And check us out! First round of CSP-SM class for Geoff Watts and Paul Goddard (and us)
