K-WAY and SKYRUN READY FOR THE TOUGHEST RACE YET

Three years ago, South Africa’s most technical outdoor gear brand, K-Way joined forces with South Africa’s oldest and toughest mountain race – SkyRun, to form one of the most formidable forces in the trail running community! Roll on 2020, arguably one of the toughest years in recent history worldwide, and this tough team are staying true to their course and are ready to bring you their best race yet!

“After seeing so many races not only cancelled this year, but also lose title sponsors due to financial constraints caused by the global Covid19 pandemic, we feel truly blessed to have partnered with a brand like K-Way who honours their commitment to not only the race but the sport of trail and mountain running in general,” says Michael de Haast, race organiser from Pure Adventures.

Two times K-Way SkyRun champion, and K-Way sponsored athlete, Lucky Miya will be back to defend his title and see if he can take the podium for a third year. 2019 Ladies overall winner, Jade Pickard, will also be back with Meghan West and K-Way athlete, Nicolette Griffioen, close on her heals for their chance at the podium.

This year’s race will be run following strict Covid19 protocols to ensure the safety of all involved in the race, whilst at the same time staying true to the core beliefs and values of the race. If you haven’t entered yet, think of the K-Way SkyRun as your chance to experience nature at best and find your true self.

The races will be taking place on Saturday 14 November 2020.
