Today our go-with-the-flow road trip took us to Mumbai Local an authentic Mumbai and Indian street food fine-dining restaurant in Canmore, BC.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Thatte Idli there. Thatte Idli?is a Karnataka special recipe with idlis steamed in plates. This took me back on a memory trip 22 years ago when I was doing my MBA in Bangalore.

Thatte Idli saved my life back then.

It was my only meal for the day for 2 years since this was the only food I could afford due to my financial situation. I have never told anyone about my struggle except my family.

As I shared this with my kids today, I was reminded that "?????????? ?????????? ?????????? ????????. ?????????? ???????????? ????!"

I believe enduring tough times while growing up is the best preparation for life, and am grateful for my tough times.

I've had the privilege of meeting many exceptional people including my partner-in-crime Vinod Sharma, who had a very tough time growing up but it made them resilient, scrappy, and resourceful.
