Juul imposes temporary ban in U.S. ahead of regulation.

So Juul, the market leader in the USA for vape products has implemented its own measures to curb the teenage vape 'epidemic' as described by the FDA.

Juul has been a huge success, but is its customer base made up too strongly of teen users? Tighter regulation will hit them the hardest as they have the most customers and their products are the most popular amongst teenage users.

The FDA has viewed the steps by Juul as broadly positive, but still plans to take regulatory steps.

Teen vape users in the USA are a serious issue for the vape industry. 1 in 5 high school children are reported to be vape users by the National Youth Tobacco Survey - around 3 Millions teens

The FDA are moving towards federal regulation to ban the sale of vape products to those under 21.

Tough times ahead as the U.S. vape industry adopts to a more narrow customer base.

Juul don't market their devices as smoking cessation products and never have. Their marketing strategy is around having the 'best' vape product delivering a true alternative to traditional smoking products. This includes an unapologetic high nicotine hit for their nicotine based products, to rival that of traditional cigarettes.
