Justin Trudeau office in 2015 the GDP for Canada was growing at 2.3% per year post 2009 recession,. Trudeau face the 2020 pandemic as part of his overall GDP growth. The problem is GDP went from 3% in 2017 to 1.7 by late 2019. Majority of the GDP growth was tied to three areas: 1. Real Estate 2. Public Sector Spending 3. Oil production. The manufacturing, mining, forestry, construction, and agriculture have seen a decline in terms of their GDP mix
In December 2024 is when Chrystia Freeland stepped down as Canada Finance Minister. Ms. Freeland loves to tout her economic polices as you will see in this video:
