Just writing on the cut up of the book into Scrivener

Cutting a book apart from 6 years ago means that you can't remember why you did something.

Breaking it into scenes from Pantser to Scrivener is a lengthy episode.

Quality of the writing I can live with before any editing starts but why have I forgotten so much of the story?

“Leave it, Ralf. We need to let DUA know, if he doesn’t know, already … let’s head back home – what put your nose out so much, Ralf? You don’t usually lose your temper like that.”

“Something from the guys in Africa – it leaves a smell on Agents … they cannot trust anything, or anyone – like a skin disease, or an STD smell you can never lose, because the smell becomes systemic in them.”

“Let’s get home, Ralf.”

Boy and Gris arrived to find the whole team sat in the lounge reading their letters, which had been hand delivered, marked Secret, with one for Gris, waiting there.

DUA looked up as they came in, “We have all been taken back on. Me as an ex-officio … I am on Pension – they sticking us in an annex, near Brixton underground station.

“I am appointed to the Tea Kitty Committee, with the rest of you reporting to me. What did they say to you two this morning?”

“Nothing much, DUA … Ewa was trying and succeeding, in riling Ralf, but Ralf raised the point which I hadn’t picked up on, that she was more interested in trying to provoke a response from him and get feedback, than in interviewing him …?

“Ralf stayed on message and she got nothing but she didn’t even try for an HR interview,” explained Gris – she was deliberately aggressive and attacking.

“She is an Agent, DUA …they cannot switch off – never leaves them,” I saw it in some of the guys in Africa.

“Well, I’ve got to see, Lance, Monday week, but we are on the Payroll from today, so we have a week before we report …?

“I know the place in Brixton, Boy – apply for one of the underground berths at the site. They owe you, and you’ll probably get one – the rest of us will get the local car park.”

“One other thing, if we can, DUA?” Said Gris.

“OK, Gris … finally there is a request from Boy and Gris. As they have now taken on four staff, plus the upkeep here, they need us to put out hands a bit further into our pockets. We are all officially off Gardening Leave, which leaves us with a lot more money coming in so I suggest that a £2000 house allowance (all inclusive) a month each, to cover everything … it won’t break us, and the house seems to be working out well. Apart from that we will probably need a Gardener, Boy, as Prilloch will be occupied.”
