Just WOW for "the Dsc Wow 2020"? #Dsc Wow

Just WOW for "the Dsc Wow 2020" #Dsc Wow

If you were like me, hearing the word, ‘Hackathon’ may conjur thoughts of geeky technocrats, hunched over-bright screens, toiling through endless lines of code. While this is not entirely wrong, tech events, especially hackathons, are much more than this.

You can thank Hollywood if you were under the impression that a hackathon had anything to do with actual hacking.

In reality, a hackathon is an attempt to build (“hack”) a creative solution to a tricky, often relevant problem. These problems can range widely in variety, and most tend to prioritize technology as a means to solve. These are great because they provide the framework for teams to brainstorm and execute an idea.

You have probably figured out by now that I am going to write about today's live online session a part of a weeklong event consisting of 4 days of workshops/sessions and a 48 hours hackathon named CodeOffDuty under the umbrella of DSC Week Of Wonders, aka DSC WOW 2020.

It earlier used to be that hackathons/sessions required everyone to be physically present in the same room at the same time.

However, thanks to technology, online meets have evolved to become far more efficient than in-person meetings.

Coming straight to the point we all know programming is an excellent source of knowledge and Data is the new oil.

Today, I attended DSC WOW without any expectations. Still, I was amazed when this great insight sharing event where tons of student developers around the country came to seek guidance for their future tech-path from tech experts in the field of AI, ML and blockchain along with it the technology that blended software with real-world objects (AR, VR).

The first session I attended today was about the work-life balance taken by Siddhant Agarwal and Nikitha Gandhi; It was great to know how these two Googlers were able to manage their productive life learned tips and tricks on how to manage work-life balance. And spoke about their experience and gave great advice to have effective management.

The following session was all about AR. The key takeaway for understanding the shift towards VR & AR is their collective push towards enabling people to engage more naturally with computers — by simply looking, gesturing, conversing, and being — as opposed to dealing with interfering and unnatural interfaces like mice, keyboards, and flat screens. It was a fun session overall taken by Ada Rose Canon, I learned a lot about Augmented Reality, and finally, we had a hands-on session on building AR/VR app conducted by Koren continuing with Building AR/VR App in less than 20 minutes.

Oh, the fun didn't end! Haha, we then moved to discord having fun with the quiz, played among us, skribbl, and chess and why not memes (the main source of laughter).

The Past three days was evenly marvellous as of today, I have filled my small brain with awesome pieces of stuff and facts. In which we had sessions on Machine Learning, Web Development, Flutter, Chat App, BlockChain, Personal Branding, Design thinking, etc.

#day1 starting with Keynote, Your first ML Project, Quiz Time!, Lightning Talk, Panel Discussion.

#day2 The best Introduction to Blockchain, Design Thinking, Quiz Time!, Community Building, Building your personal brand.

#day3 Workshop on Flutter created our own flutter app, Web Development / Designing, Quiz Time!, Building a Chat App with Flutter & Firebase.

I attended every day to gain hands-on on some key technologies (firebase, flutter, AMP ) that I haven't thought about, that solved many problems that developers faced nowadays like (multi-platform code support, cloud private storage, and performance web apps).

MY LEARNING:-

Machine Learning - Introduction

Flutter - Design Thinking | Flutter Introduction

Building a Chat App with Flutter & Firebase

How to manage work-life balance

Building AR & VR Apps on web

The event was at its best and will be the best. I have gone through many events, but this was the best. I loved all the sessions. Every session is making me more fascinating to build something new: so much skills so much knowledge, so much passion, so many communities and so many prizes????.

I fully enjoyed each and every day with lots of excitement! Thanks a lot for this opportunity to learn different things. DSC WOW is really Wow. I had learned so many things from DSC WOW it had give me a better path into my career. I am really really thankful to DSC WOW for this kind of events. It helps a lot of people in their career whether thay are from technical Field or Non Technical Field.

Once again thanks to DSC WOW and all the organizers for arranging this awesome event!!
