Just Wait

Teachable Moment:?Wait for the right time to communicate important information to your employees.
Your employees aren’t always ready to hear what you have to say.
You may feel a sense of?urgency?to communicate important information as soon as possible.
But do so when they’re overly stressed or in a crisis, and the message becomes lost.
They may be unable to process the information or?misunderstand?the message completely.
Adding unwanted tension and conflict to an already overwhelmed employee.
As difficult as it might be,?wait?for the right time to communicate important information.
This means waiting until your employee is in a proper state to hear and process what you have to say.
Start by checking in on how they’re?feeling?before delivering your message.

If they are not in a good place, offer to discuss the matter at a later time when they are in a better state of mind.
This shows that you care about their well-being and are willing to support them during challenging times.
Keep learning,
Josh
P.S.
In case you missed my original message, I wanted to share some exciting changes to my platform Mgmt On-Demand . Going forward every course and resource on the platform will be free for everyone.
Right now there are 40+ micro-courses and 10+ resources (templates, scripts, etc.) that you can leverage on your own or in any manager training program or LMS. Feel free to embed or link to any of the courses/resources as you see fit.
If you don’t have any manager training in place, this is a great place to start as everything is organized into 8 leadership competencies and learning paths.
The goal is to democratize access to this content so that everyone has a chance to learn the fundamentals of what it takes to be an effective leader. If you see any topics or skills missing, you can let let me know via the platform (there’s a request button) and I can add it to the queue. The plan is to have no more than 100 micro-courses at a given time.
At the end of the day, I didn’t feel comfortable charging for “content” as this is not where I see the future of leadership development going.
I’m doubling down on leveraging AI for training (through the platform’s AI leadership coach) and if you’d like to see how it works for your organization you can always reach out directly.
I hope this helps make your roles a little bit easier and starts the conversation of making this type of training accessible to everyone - not just for those who have a “leadership title” or the financial means to access it.

1 年I have noticed too that if I go too long without having the conversation with someone it creates a wall between us. And when the conversation does happen the receipt has often asked “why did it take so long to tell me?”. Timing truly is everything
