Just an Update

Dear Readers,

There's a lot happening right now.

This somewhat impedes my ability to find time to publish the DMR Digest once a week as originally planned.

I've always been busy, but in the last few months, this "busyness" has intensified, and for a very good reason.

We've made the decision to seek institutional funding and embrace the traditional VC model, involving multiple consecutive funding rounds with a focus on top-line growth.

Now, not only do I have to manage the day-to-day operations of the business, but I also have to devote a significant portion of my time to fundraising. It's a well-known fact that fundraising can be a full-time job for a founder.

The timing is favorable for DMR, thanks to Open AI and other Large Language Models (LLMs). They've elevated our custom AI models to something akin to celebrities, and we've developed over a hundred of them over the past 6-8 years.

I often find myself explaining the difference between language generation (Generative AI) and tagging. Our AI excels in terms of tagging accuracy in any language, typically for tasks such as sentiment analysis, identifying topics, and recognizing brands. In fact, our custom AI models are proven to be at least 20 percentage points more accurate than GPT-3.5 Turbo (we have concrete evidence), and we're currently working on providing similar proof for GPT-4.

We were fortunate enough to secure seven R&D grants for developing AI applications in Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision—six from Innovate UK and one from the EU.

Some people have called us "Grant Junkies."

We're commencing with a modest funding round, and thanks to a new shareholder who has taken on the role of Strategy and M&A Advisor on our Advisory Board, we find ourselves oversubscribed. Being in a position to turn down investors during a funding round is undoubtedly a great situation to be in!

Over the next six months following this initial round, we'll embark on a roadshow for a subsequent, larger funding round. Consequently, I anticipate needing some assistance to keep the promise of delivering a DMR Digest once a week.

If anyone knows of an excellent Marketing Manager for a company like DMR, please send them my way :).
