Just In Time for Christmas
Recently our VP of sales Darren Dives received a call from one of our customers.? They were losing money on every part they ran on a particular job.? They were roughing with 3” indexable cutter some 304 Stainless castings. After he saw the operation, Darren called one of our supplier partners, Aram with Mitsubishi.
Together they brought in a Mitsubishi cutter with inserts specifically designed for this severe type of operation. The results were astonishing. Aram was able to increase both the axial DOC and radial WOC, while increasing the feed rate per tooth as well.?With these changes we were also able to double the number of parts before requiring the inserts to be rotated.? This of course yielded more machine uptime as well.
The final results from the original cost per part of $68.00 per part the cost savings of machine and tooling per part of $41.41. A cost savings of an amazing 63%.
