Not Just Ticking Boxes; Challenging the Superficial Narratives
Introducing "Not Just Ticking Boxes" Campaign
On the 8th of March, ALF launched its campaign "Not Just Ticking Boxes” that serves?as a direct response to our vision for authentic women's empowerment, transcending superficial gestures to address the heart of the matter. While we understand that women’s acknowledgment matters, it is simply not enough!
In “Not Just Ticking Boxes”, we aim to create a space where we can open challenging and uncomfortable conversations surrounding the intricate issues that women from different backgrounds face. It is a space where we challenge the status quo and redefine the narrative that has been shaping women's issues, particularly on occasions such as this.
“Not Just Ticking Boxes” moves beyond symbolic gestures and buzzwords to enact real impact and change where checkboxes are no longer the measure of progress. Each message sheds light on the surface-level issues and counters the checkboxes that are thought necessary to tick, introducing the real issue and the measures that should be taken.
Join us in this movement to address the true meaning of empowerment!
Beyond Ticking Boxes
Women's Inclusion is More than a?Group Photo!
Inclusion is more than simply featuring diverse women in a group photo. Real inclusion goes beyond this checkbox, creating safe spaces where diverse women are equal to their male counterparts. True inclusion means ensuring women have equal access to leadership roles and the ability to break down barriers, enabling them to feel empowered to contribute their perspectives fully.

?One-Size Doesn't Fit?All!
While striving for equality is fundamental to advancing women's empowerment, it must be complemented by equity.?Equality ensures that the tools and resources are offered to everyone and equity?tailors them to their specific needs. This moves beyond the one-size-fits all solutions and adopt strategies that acknowledge the unique societal and cultural circumstances and realities of each woman.
Supporting the Dual Role of Working Mothers
It is common to hire mothers and then overseeing their specific needs. Working mothers aren't just part of the workforce; they're often juggling two demanding roles simultaneously and this usually goes unseen.? Genuine inclusion extends beyond merely ticking the box of hiring mothers; it necessitates accommodating their specific requirements such as accessible childcare, flexible scheduling, and remote work options.
?Empowerment is More Than a Buzzword
Women’s empowerment does not come to life in conference rooms and it is not a buzzword that is tossed around in presentations. It comes to life when women’s agency is recognized and actual participation is implemented, and when women engage meaningfully in decision-making processes. Empowerment means women having ownership over their contribution and actions, it is the way towards true leadership.
