Many of you may have a particular group of stocks you like and are considering buying. On the other hand, you may own some stocks you are thinking of selling, but don’t know if the time is right. My experience also tells me that nearly all investors have stocks or mutual funds in their portfolios that should not be there. So why not get a second opinion from someone who knows this stuff. Just email us your ticker symbols and we will answer these questions for you through a return email.  At no charge, by the way.  

With just a ticker symbol (no statements or values), I can do a complete analysis on an individual stock or fund to let you know if it is worth buying or needs to be sold. Or maybe just hold a while longer. Better yet, I can do an analysis on a group of stocks or funds and compare and rank them from top to bottom. You may be surprised to find that your favorite stock or fund may be one that needs to be sitting on the bench for a while.  

As an example, Newmont Mining Corporation (symbol NEM is down nearly -17 (%) year-to-date. I have nothing against this company, but it represents the precious metals industry. Precious metals, by the way, is hovering near the bottom of the 40 sectors I monitor.  I have said in the past that most stocks or mutual funds are not good or bad, but rather appropriate or inappropriate. However, this stuff is cyclical, and at some point precious metals will be back at the top and Newmont Mining will be one of those companies to own.  

This is an ongoing process that requires knowledge, skill, and adequate tools to properly monitor and know when to make portfolio changes, whether buying or selling. To monitor and rank 40 sectors requires over 1600 calculations. Since prices change daily, these calculations also need to be done on a daily basis. The tools we use are primarily available to Investment Advisors, Wall Street, and Institutional Firms only.
