Just Say it: I Was Wrong!

Just Say it: I Was Wrong!

Talk is cheap. We've all screwed up a few times and I'm sure you've said "I'm sorry"

Then we move on.

Sorry doesn't fix the lamp

"Did you LEARN from your mistake?"

What a cliche- RIGHT?

I mean, seriously what do we really do about it? We hope time will erase whatever sour taste our mistakes have made and hope they get buried really deep under the rug.

Our lives are so vulnerable at every stage and social media has certainly put that under a tremendous magnifying glass. To actually own up to a mistake and say:

I was wrong!

have got to be the 3 hardest words to say- because now you've put the blame on YOURSELF! We hate being wrong. We hate when it's our fault. Most of all we hate when we have to repair the damage.

YOU are going to get fired!

YOU are going to be crushed!

YOU are responsible for the damage!

Saying it's truly your fault is excepting the challenge of actually doing something because of your mistake and trying to fix it. That's what separates the winners and losers.

Winners OWN their mistakes and find true ways "to fix the lamp"

Losers- hope people just forget about it.

Joe Namath is truly one of the most iconic names in New York sports who seriously OWNED THE TOWN.

He wasn't called Broadway Joe for nothing and in his new book, My Life in Four Quarters he completely opens up about the mistakes he made along the way. In my interview with Joe HERE I asked him how he was able to open up about mistakes. His reply was astonishing to me:

As far as, in the book, talking about the setbacks, the missteps and the errors-
I’ve made so many in my life that it wasn’t difficult to talk about those things because I’m trying to share those things with people that might be struggling out there. Of all ages.

In other words- we're all human and we make mistakes. But don't let the mistakes you make bury you! Your mistake might be the ticket someone else needs to get out of their troubles.

Own up! Be a Winner!

Have you made a mistake that you've had to "own up to"?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

"Success doesn't happen by accident" What's your story?

Send me an email [email protected] so I can share it.
